Students are admitted to dental school after passing the exam competitively. It is typically an all-year course. All science courses are offered during the first year, which includes anatomy, physiology microbiology, pharmacology, and biochemistry. A Day in the Life of General Dentist

A typical day at my office will begin with coffee for everyone! We then have a morning gathering at the front desk, where we discuss the day's patients who require digital X-rays and cleanings regular examinations, and any other dental care treatment. We verify that patients are taking their medications prior to their appointments and determine if any patients require additional preparations, like a ramp for those who require wheelchairs. We also ensure any lab cases are in the office prior to scheduling for them. We then start the day.

Hygienists track any changes in their patients their health histories and also take digital Xrays. Then they will treat their patients for either regular dental cleaning or gum treatment based on the health of their gums. I'll visit the patient to discuss any problems that they may have with their mouths, and will arrange follow-up treatments if necessary. The dentists, including myself, will be seeing our patients in the room which the assistant has prepared to perform the scheduled procedure.

Once the medical personnel have completed their treatment The front desk staff will forward the patient's insurance electronically, if needed, check the patients out and set up their next appointment.
